It reminds me of the old rivalry between Fifa and PES fans. Only somehow a bit more stupid. Like everyone needs validation for their decision of which game to buy by badmouthing the other one.

For people saying "sales" represent how good/bad a game is; i think your wrong.
For example, Shenmue 1 and 2 are two of the best games i've ever played and anyone who has played them will agree their brilliant, however they never did fuck all in sales.
The Bouncer; another quality game but never took off.

I think there's something I'm not getting. I watched that and it just looked like Battlefield 2 with better graphics. And graphics are one of the least important things in a game. Fail to see why there's all this excitement.

and i just realized theres more than one type of battlefield, to clarify, all my crap talking is towards the bad company series.
But I thought you'd played the older ones? You lambasted Caville because he hadn't played BF2.
Strange.
yeah older ones as in BF1 and BF2, which were bad company, it says on my game boxes, if that makes ay difference. its like the only ones ive seen for console anyways.
--------
and in that gameplay trailer, the maps look big as hell, that would be so annoying to play on, one of many reasons why i didnt get into the battlefield multiplayer. and this isnt the first time there has been graphics like that, Crysis 2 has already done this, so nothing new really.
the company took regular photos and remade them using thier cryengine 3 to show the amazing power of thier engine.

Something can have the best graphics on the world, but also be the shittest thing ever.
I wont judge until I play them.
Take the pieces and build them skywards.

How is that a bad thing though Battlefield 2 came out in 2005, A lot of people loved it about time a proper sequel for the game came out the fans have been wanting it forever.

I stand by original post by saying Gears of War 3 will be better.
Of course that's just my opinion and it's a third person shooter and not a first person shooter. I'll be off now.

On the "COD is better because it's sold more" argument.
Black Ops sold more than COD4 and COD4 is clearly a better game so that argument is invalid.

How ridiculous the arguments between Battlefield and Modern Warfare fans are is never more evident than when they're arguing about which game is better before either have actually played the games.
Can't speak for everyone but I'm in the Battlefield 3 beta and have been for a while, playing it frequently.
MW3 looks like the same shit as MW2.

I know but it seems like the same people who are praising Battlefield 3, despite the fact it doesn't really look any different, are the same people who are dissing Call of Duty, for not being any different. Does not compute in my head.
Anyway, I'm sure I will get both the games and probably love them both. I'll probably like Call of Duty more though, because I prefer small to medium size maps.

I'm buying BF3 because COD doesn't have a bowel-trembling bassline in the soundtrack.

I love the CoD gameplay, it has been undefeatable for me since CoD2, something about it gives me such a lovely feeling, making every single kill giving you a rush of joy and excitement. At least this is me.
Also, I play games because of the campaigns. Sure, CoD's campaigns tend to be short, but their intense, epic and cinematic. I mean, some of the coolest and most unexpected game moments I have had is with CoD. Remember the MW Nuke?

How different will Battlefield 3 be to Bad Company 2? I didn't really like it that much nor was I good at it.
I also agree with Teo, Call of Duty have some very good moments in their campaign's.

Yeah. The Call of Duty campaigns have been quite good recently. Modern Warfare was far and away the best as it kept the right balance between action movie cliche and genuinely exhilerating set pieces. Later games have upped the set piece ante, but sometimes less is more, and in this case they become a little overkill.
Modern Warfare had the arse droppingly awesome nuke sequence, which they obviously looked at, and tried to replicate a dozen times in Modern Warfare 2. All it does it dilute the appeal of these moments. Black Ops the same.
Battlefield has never had a particularly good campaign, I think. I realise that a lot of people only want the online and couldn't care less about the campaign, but it's still part of the game.

Honestly I care a lot more about the single player experience than multiplayer when it comes to these games. And yeah, I didn't like the campaign in MW2 anywhere near as much as the one in the first game. It was as if they were trying to replicate all the same "Wow! Surprise"-moments from the first game, but more over the top, which both ruined the surprise and made them be a bit "too much".
Getting to see the last moments of the american character in MW as he draws his last breath after the nuke was amazing. Getting to see the last of moment of the random american astronaut as the EMP blows up in MW2 was pretty meh, in my opinion. It looked cool, but nowhere near as emotional.

I bought Battlefield BC2 for the multiplayer, and I haven't even touched the single player yet.
