MuscleMuseum17 :
Some of their best songs are in there!!!! How dare you hate on Soldier's Poem
[1], Blackout
[2], Sing for Absolution
[3] or Invincible
[4]. And who doesn't like Time is Running Out?
[5] You're clearly not a very good Muse fan
[6], if you don't like them don't listen to them but then also don't bother hating on them or their songs in forums.

I think I'll answer this one as though it were an article on Wikipedia. Wikipedia never lies, right?
1. Some of the worst lyrics Matt has ever penned, and almost completely derails BHAR.
2. You know those demos you get on keyboards? And when you press "Orient" it plays a ridiculously stereotypical piece of Chinese music? Blackout is what would happen if someone pressed "Classical". It's Classical by numbers. With a little of the Quality Street theme thrown in.
3. It's just really naff. It was the point when I first listened to Absolution where I thought, "This does not bode well". A sort of indicator for the future cheese they would release like...
4. Westlife learning how to play instruments. More really, really, really bad lyrics, and a solo that makes me want to make that noise that mechanics make when they come back out from under your car and you just know it's bad news.
5. Me. Probably lots of other people too.
6. I know. But I'm cool with that.
7. I don't listen to them. The thread is about a nightmare setlist at a Muse gig. This would be mine. It's the point of the thread to list songs you don't want to hear. You can't throw a "Villains from History" costume party and then moan when someone turns up as Hitler.
Don't take it personally. You can still enjoy all these songs. I however cannot, and would sooner shit in my socks than pay good money to see them performed live.
You clearly aren't very smart because your points (especially number 7) are stupid. If you don't listen to or like Muse then you shouldn't be worrying about setlists because you shouldn't go to one of their gigs. This forum is to ask people who mostly like Muse which songs they dislike. To make use of your simple minded example, you can't hate someone's villain costume just because you don't like going to costume parties you simple minded and irrational fool.
Just for my actual contribution to this thread:
Jimmy Kane is the only Muse song that I wouldn't care to see live, and maybe
Agitated but i don't hate them.
Muscle Museum and
New Born are probably the two songs I want to see most, but that opinion will probably change in a few months. I always have one Muse song that I obsess about for a while.
I was also really surprised to see Hoodoo and Megalomania on this thread. Also two of my favourites, really powerful songs, especially live.
I have to say most people are disliking the softer songs such as blackout, soldier's poem, falling away with you, sing for absolution, invincible etc. Is it just that you people only like the rock songs which i would kind of understand. You have to be in the mood for those songs but I thing they are all brilliant. I don't know, it's just what i saw.
I'm going to answer this post in the medium of poem, largely because I have two hours to kill, but also because I think it's a sorely underused medium of posting, and frankly, I'm bringing it back.
Hello and welcome to the Muselive board,
Such a wonderful place to be.
But after reading your second post,
I'm afraid I must disagree.
You say I'm clearly not too smart,
Well, allow me to retort,
For I think you've judged me far too soon,
Without a second thought.
You reference number seven as an indicator
Of my intellectual deficiancy,
But you have assumed, and as we both know,
That makes an ass of you and me.
I like lots of Muse songs it's fair to say,
In fact I like more than I hate.
I would love to see a set of my favourite tunes,
But I think I'll have quite a wait.
However that's not the point of this thread,
We're talking about the nightmare show.
If Muse told me they were playing the songs I listed,
I just simply wouldn't go.
Neutron Star Collison? Guiding Light? Eurasia?
Get me a double on the rocks.
Paying fifty bones to see that tripe?
I'd sooner shit in my socks.
You call me a simple minded, irrational fool,
You clearly haven't lurked.
I like that you tried to reverse my analogy,
But really, it doesn't work.
My analogy showed that if you ask for something,
You can't complain when someone brings it.
Yours says I can't hate the songs as I don't like Muse,
But as I've shown that doesn't fit.
Even if I did hate the band,
I could still make a nightmare set.
It would just be the very worst of their songs.
As bad as they could get.
You seem sour that someone is dissing songs you like,
That's your failing and not mine.
My dislike of them doesn't effect your enjoyment,
I think I said that in my final line.
So get used to the fact not everyone likes exactly
The same things that you do.
Because if you're only looking for a big Muse group hug,
Then this isn't the forum for you.
If I like something I'll give it a glowing review,
If I don't then I'll call it crap.
So let's end this quarrel before it gets out of hand,
Cause my next reply will be Gangsta Rap.
