Or maybe do a Dream Theater and release an album with only 6 tracks but each track is at least 10 minutes long full of epicness

Wembley Arena - 23rd November 2006
Wembley Stadium - 17th June 2007 (Golden Circle!!!)
02 Arena - 13th November 2009
Wembley Stadium - 11th September 2010

They need to make something with the best of both worlds, pop songs and progressive/experimental songs. They did that with BHAR and in my opinion, as you know, its their best album.

I'd rather 11 tracks of Feeling Good and Undisclosed Desires :P

Nah, I'd like a full album of 11-13 songs. And a shit load of B-Sides.

Take the pieces and build them skywards.

I love prog, but only 1 of each thousand 7min+ compositions are actually good.
I have around 3000 songs in my library, and there are only 3 of them which I love, The rest are just good or meh. So please, either don't do it, or release 5994 B-sides, 10-minute long each, and put the remaining 6 songs on the album.

I'd love a Muse version of Anesthesize though (a 18 minute track by Porcupine Tree), but only if they can make it. That's another reason for Steven Wilson to be their producer.

18 minutes is too long. Imagine if it came out and you only liked the last section, you'd have to wait 15 minutes for it, or fast forward.

I specifically referred to Anesthetize for a reason. That song is good from start to finish. Even I can hardly believe that.

I'd disagree with that. Firstly, a song doesn't have to be prog to be 7mins long. Secondly, plenty of longer songs are fantastic. But I agree that a song being long doesn't automatically make it great.

I wouldn't want SW to produce Muse, personally. It's just a personal choice I suppose, but still.

I'd want SW to produce it. Nothing to do with his music or his influences, but 100% because of his attention to detail, his mindset on sound quality, recording and the finished product. Porcupine Tree's studio and live recordings are amazing. Having Muse sound as clear as that would be heaven.

^Well the Deadwing CD is annoyingly clipped, it's my least favourite PT CD for how it sounds, but that's off-topic.

I am all for actually having a nice sounding Muse album for once. Who knows, maybe SW or Homme or whoever could show Matt how crap TR and the OTTness has become.

This. I'd totally buy a remastered Origin if it was from him. Even if it's three times more expensive. Imagine the CE/New Born drumming in a Steven's record.

Also his 5.1 mixes are absolutely amazing.

This is true. Apparently the 5.1 version hasn't got that. I have the 5.1 version downloaded but I have no idea how I would listen to it.

The songs are so good but it sounds so bad . There must be a programme to turn 5.1 into stereo. Although the panning would be very weird.

The DVD-A has a 24bit/48kHz PCM stereo version that has much less clipping. I ripped it (it was quite hard) and manually split the tracks. Then I did the same for the In Absentia and Fear of a Blank Planet. FoaBP drumming is much better (and it's already awesome in the CD version) in the 24 bit version.

I know Matt said in a recent interview, at the NME Awards i think it was, he said something about exploring in doing some rave like stuff for the next album, but i'd like to see them do some electro type songs like Map Of The Problematique or Take A Bow on album 6, that'll make my day

I can see a collab with La Roux. In fact I see half the tracks as being duets with female artists. The other half will totally electronic instrumentals.

NME: Muse to return with 'softer' album next year

I don't know how the NME thinks this is news, but it's always good to hear Dom say he'd want to make the album heavy again.

Could this be the first news of a possible new album?

I have three doubts.
1. The post was deleted shorly after being made
2. No other sources have confirmed it as of now
3. May 3rd? A bit early, no?

Depends on what you define as early for another album. It'll be what, 2 and a half years since The Resistance? I would've thought it'd be three years, but obviously we don't know what has been going on behind the scenes.

As for them being hacked, surely they'd have posted something about it by now?

However, this is more hope from me than anything. :P

If it is true, then....

EDIT: I think it was an accident: http://muse.mu/news/article/117/new-album-released-may3rd/ look at the date. 2006, this was probably for BHaR?
