I'm always surprised by the love Revenge of the Sith gets. I don't know whether it just seems good by default thanks to it's two awful predecessors or whether I missed something, but it's fairly average, I think. The whole story is based around a love that is about as convincing as Ian Huntley's defence strategy. The only real quality comes from Ewan McGregor who finally becomes Obi Wan and a bit of pantomime villainy from Palpatine.

I think I'm just happier ignoring the existence of the prequels. I'm happier not knowing that one of cinemas all time most iconic villains started out as a smug little tosser that had a hissy fit, and was tricked into the dark side by "Honestly, just kill a few jedi's and maybe your wife will be alright".

Same here, I recently watched Return of the Sith and it was just stupid, OK I will say it was probably the most action filled but really beyond that it was awful. I think the major issue for me with the prequels and RotS shows this best it basically looks like the Clone Wars series just with the occassional real person super imposed over the top. Put the awful casting, acting, villains and script aside they had managed to turn a realistic sci fi franchise in to a childrens cartoon cgi fest.
It's amazing how 1970's technology looks more realistic than the best the modern day can produce.
And it's probably cheaper too.
Thank fuck there was none of this 3D shit when the prequels were made.

I hate the CGI in the newer ones too. You're right in what you say, that the old ones looked more convincing. A man in a cheap rubber suit looks better than a dodgy CGI character - they always seem out of place and otherworldly.

It's probably what made the originals so great in the first place, everything seemed real and tactile because they were real and tactile.
It's not just the only reason the new ones are shit but it's a major reason.
Plus it's not the only Lucas franchise to be completely ruined in this way.

And another thing, how do you manage to ruin storyline continuity when the sequels were made before the prequels.

In a way thought the original trilogy was meant to look real & gritty; it fit with the idea that there is this tiny rebellion using outdated things that don't work all the time going up against the Galactic Empire.
In the prequels there is none of that so everything looks shiny and new.

I realsie this will fall on deaf ears but hey *shurgs*

I just think all the CGI in the new ones makes everything look lifeless and sterile. I agree about the old ones looking more real despite the dodgy special effects - the men in rubber suits have a more real feel to them, and they never look like they've just been photoshopped in. Everything is more natural. CGI is distracting because it's noticeable, and makes everything seem fake.

To be fair to the prequels (but not making any excuses for them), there isn't really any way it would have worked without the CGI. Some of the scenes were too big to get right which is why he did 4,5,6 first but they still got it wrong unfortunately.

Back To The Future, my favourite films and probably always will be! Though I will be honest and say I've never really seen Star Wars all the way through.

Ahaha I'm sorry but I'd rather have a DeLorean over an AT-AT Walker! hehe.

I'd like to own a Star Destroyer. Man, that would be so fucking awesome.

I'd kill someone to have Vader's Executor.

I'd rather have a time-travelling DeLorean than a Millenium Falcon.

Isn't the Executor his personal Tie Fighter?

Anyways, Star Wars win. Simply because the extremely mediocre second Bak to the Future film.

The Executor is his personal Star Destroyer. I don't think the TIE fighter has a name.

Hmm... Yeah, I think it has, maybe an interceptor?

Edit: 10 seconds on wikipedia told me that Vader's TIE fighter is of model Advanced x1.
