means theyde do more smal gigs and ide be happy

haha im just being selfish. but yeah... i feel like when they got them selves into this Twilight thing, it was WAY before they knew about the shit they were gonna be associated with. :/

I don't get this thread... was it made purely to try and reason on the behalf of Muse, why they sold themselves short?

Thom was on the soundtrack too. My issue isn't with Twilight it's with why they had to use such a crap song for it.

Twilight will be finished soon , then we will see how many of the"NEW FANS" stick around ......

You never know, the movie might actually cause some people to become actual fans, but yes, once Twilight is finished (and we all know it's coming) there will likely be a decrease in these "fans" and hopefully the band will notice.

Don't forget the people who have become fans of Muse, but who aren't Twilight fans at all. THat beause of the success of the saga, everything related to it has become famous, and accessible to more people, and.. people who happens to like good music realised that not everything related to Twilight was bad.

This could be an unintended love for many people... (those T. fans) but hopefully they get the real thing soon, after the saga has passed away, and they'll stay.

I agree with the idea that music is a career. So, we shouldn't "blame" them for wanting to earn more money; the thing has been that they gave in too much: a part of their identity when composing: that is, whould NCS have been made for a muse album in a near future, just for the sake of it?
I also agree they have got publicity in terms they wouldn't want at all, tabloids, their personal life exposed, and so on...

Yeah but Thom's song wasn't shit, and was not clearly written for the teen/love/angst Twilight crowd, more like, it just happened to be on the album.

Yeah that's what I meant, Thom had a song on the soundtrack but didn't feel the need to change his sound to fit with the film but it feels like Muse did.

U mad?

Anyways, it makes sense why Muse chose to be affiliated, as they always wanted to get/break into America. But, I think NSC was a bit too far. A whole song just given to the sound track, as well as a shitty music video.

Song is ok, not the greatest though at all. Someone mentioned "muse on autopilot" - that's exactly what it is in a nutshell.

So, as long as they stop from now on, it will be fine! Unless they want to infinitely become the Twilight band every time someone references to them.

Which personally, I wouldn't like if if I was in their shoes.

yea I do notice you behaving lately, but it would be nice if everyone just try to as well. In any case, please avoid needless arguments when you can everyone. I know you don't all like each other, but try not to find any opportunity to argue when needn't be. Thanks.

Well to be fair, it's quite a heated topic lol. What else can we really discuss besides whether or not our favourite band is actually selling out. I doubt everyone will agree with one side anytime soon, so can you really blame us for still arguing?

So what if Chris is being honest. Doesnt absolve him of this monstrosity. As if honesty makes a difference now.

Many of you mocked me when I first argued the point back in 2006. and Fuck it... I told you so. You made me out to be a looney.
I could see exactly where it was going... the sell out happened a long time ago and all of you have some responsibility in the way this ends. (If you people kicked up a storm then... maybe the feedback might have set things straight when it mattered. The criticism now is too late).

"when this twilight blows over"...
some things never blow over. Muse are always going to be remembered as the 'twilight' band.. "---> oh you mean that twilight band?... Yeh I mean that fucking twilight band"

They fucked it when they signed up with Warner. And any dumwit music listener
knew what that meant when it happened.

Enjoy your twilight saga
Love is forever!... and!... fuck it I cant even be fucked joking about it

Yes, we understand that you were frustrated that the US took so long to catch on, and that you had to stoop to low levels to win American audiences over. But guess what? You guys just carried a successful arena tour here in the States. You did it. Now please, please, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, for the love of all things holy, please cut the pop act and go back to making badass rock songs. I beg of you.

What do you call Resistance, USoE, MK Ultra, Exogenesis? That's not pop music.
