Funny I was just thinking about this today. A lot of people on here seem to think it should be dropped but i'm seeing them on Friday and it's one of only a few songs i'm really looking forward to. I've seen it at every gig i've been to and i'm still not bored of it, one of my favourite songs and fantastic live!
Now that nights closing in
And in the half light
We run
Lock us up safe
And hide the key
But the night tears us loose
And in the half light
Were free
Andy is awesome!!

If there is a middle option i would pick that, they have far better livee sounding songs but it is one of the best live experiences because of the reaction of the crowd and the band seem to enjoy playing it

Honestly no, I don't think it should be dropped - it's a really great song live even if it's slightly overplayed.

This is so true.
Even if it is overplayed, it is great live. I loved singing along with it.
You would be disappointed if you didn't see it live.

It shouldn't be dropped because it always creates a great sense of atmosphere, with the crowd singing along that fabulous bass line . A favourite of mine and probably of a lot of muse fans (non hardcore fans anyways... just a guess).

Its a wonderful song and a great live song but yes, i think i thew big songs to be dropped for a short period of time during the next tour, TIRO , SS , Hysteria, New Born........then bring them back near the end of the tour slightly modified.
EDIT: But its definitely not boring, but yeah has been played too death just like SS, Hysteria, New Born and soo on.

I think Hysteria and PiB should be dropped first.
TIRO is a fantastic song live, I never listen to the studio version, but live it is fantastic.

Fine with me, but under the condition that it's not replaced by GL or NSC.

I Think that people cant complain about it being overplayed, Because New Born and Plug in Baby are played at almost every gig, way before Time is Running Out Was Written!

I agree that its overplayed (it could rotate out now and then) but the crowd goes so nuts over that song that I deserves to stay in the setlists. I think it should move around in the setlist though.
All in all, there are other songs that should be dropped before Time is Running Out is.

No it's an okay song I guess. It's a bit overplayed but always gets a good crowd reaction so that makes it a great live song

If I was watching a live stream of TIRO: Drop it, dull as piss and it never sounds quite right.
If I was in the audience: Keep it, one of the best live songs for energy and its just good fun really. Same with Starlight and PiB, just a bit of fun.

I think, after looking at Glastonbury's performance, we can't exactly say they shoud be dropped (PiB being the other in question.) If it was your first ever Muse gig, i'm pretty sure these two would be songs quite high on your lists of songs that you want to see. For us Hardcore fans, we'd obviously want something rarer. But i guess the hardcore fans aren't exactly the majority in this yet. Though there is still time :P
I think with arguments about setlists and the such, look at bigger legendary bands, that have been around for decades (i.e Metallica). They still have some of the same staples as 10 years ago, or maybe even longer! I get the feeling Muse may be the same...

Yes, it's definitely time. They've played TIRO at every single Muse gig I've been to and it's just not very special anymore. And they could replace it with another Absolution song, like TSP.

^That'd be nice but... The Small Print was not a single, and I would have to believe the band would be afraid to play a 7 year old song that never charted. Unfortunate but true. Now, I could see a BHaR track replacing it now and then, preferably City of Delusion or Assassin, or even Invincible (that was a single), but again, probably won't happen.

Personally I think it should not be dropped. It is one of their 'classic' songs and the part where Matt gives the audience the honour of singing - thats epic! Also, for someone who hasn't got the chance to see Muse live, would it not be devastating not to hear this classic? Thats said, they also cannot keep this song forever, maybe what might be possible is for them to shake up the setlist every now and then as their discography gets bigger. I had the privilege of watching them earlier this year for the first time, and if they did not play TIRO, on one hand I might be disappointed, but on the other hand, if they did not play TIRO, they might have played a more 'special' rare song Hence both sides have its pros and cons

Been played to death and is a bit weak compared to Plug In Baby and New Born. Still, there are worse stuff on the setlists that deserve to go first.
