Togo are back in again. Their players should make a stand and just not play.
|
|
|
I don't blame Togo for getting out of the Africa Cup Of Nations. Could you really expect the players to play at their best if they're still nervous about getting shot again? I hate Adebayor, but I don't blame him in the slightest for wanting out, and admire him for leading the team as a captain and doing the media stuff well.
Back in snowy England, I'm gutted for Everton. Two massively deflected shots pegging them back each time, preventing a well-deserved win. Time for United to add on to that good result and go top.
EDIT: Carrick and Evra are playing really well. If only they could get an incisive pass through to Rooney to equalise.
Also, is there a Brazilian player who is happier to make physical contact than Rafael? He's flying into tackles at the moment

So, when was the last time all the games on a Premiership weekend were a draw? :P

You don't like draws, do you? I'll leave you the complete results of the 1st round of our league, for your delight. Only 1 game didn't end in a draw, it ended in a 1-0 victory. Every other game ended 1-1 or 0-0.
Sp. Braga 1-0 Académica
V. Setúbal 0-0 V. Guimarães
Benfica 1-1 Marítimo
U. Leiria 1-1 Rio Ave
Leixões 0-0 Belenenses
Naval 0-0 Olhanense
Nacional 1-1 Sporting
P. Ferreira 1-1 FC Porto
Be happy there you're at least getting some goals

|
|
Eh? I've got nothing against draws.
It was meant to be a witty comment since there hasn't been a full weekend of draws for... i dunno how many years. But obviously it failed
Oh, and that list doesn't count because there's a 1-0 :P

Good to see that Arsenal have a bit of a German influence in the announcement of the starting line-ups

I've been in hiding. To be honest, United have been playing badly all season. It's a miracle that we're still in the title race.

I don't think they will, though.

We've still got a bit of time to start playing well before the Milan match, but I reckon Fergie is using this as a transition year to the next team. Ronaldo was the focal point of the last team, Fergie will probably start changing the balance of the team to revolve around Rooney who he knows will be at United for the next 3000 years.

Unless the financial situation is worse than we think it is, right?
Heard the recent transfer rumous?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1241995/Ben-Foster-sale-Edwin-van-der-Sar-returns-Manchester-United.html
Foster for sale at 4 million.
Anderson and Nani will also be allowed to go at the right price and a summer move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema cannot be ruled out if Ferguson can find a buyer for Dimitar Berbatov.
That bit is particularly interested. Then again, it is just speculation.

Nani leaving, I'm neither fussed nor surprised. Anderson could do well, I feel. He has had good performances, but hasn't been able to nail down a regular spot. Foster had his chance, but sadly couldn't do it. Now that van der Sar is injured again, Kuszcak is doing alright, he seems to have more of a presence than earlier this season. Berbatov has done well, not poorly, he just hasn't completely sparked.

Why on earth would Madrid sell Benzema after 1 season?

There has been talk of it because he hasn't been good for them. But only if they get the £35m in full. They're not gonna sell him at a loss.
It may be the Daily Mail, but transfer rumours are transfer rumours. It doesn't matter who the source is at that point.
United need to get rid of Foster, Nani and Anderson anyway. Hargreaves needs to come back. And Berbatov needs to start scoring or fuck off. I've been a Berbatov supporter, but they need a quality finisher. Obviously Berbatov and Owen aren't.

Angola were 4-0 up against Mali in the opening game of the African Nations Cup with 11 minutes to go, only to end up drawing 4-4. Sounds like it was a decent opening match!

He is playing very poor until now, while Higuain is scoring in every match and playing amazing, and there are talks of an agreement with Ribery for next season.
Even without Ribery, right now Benzema is on the bench. If a team will offer £35m for him, Real will sell him.
Mali- what the fuck. I saw the first 10 minutes before the Real-Mallorca second half started and after it ended I forgot to switch back to Mali-Angola.. Fuck.
The past is now part of my future, The present is well out of hand.
