Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma

Or at least, all I could stomach. The first Book was guttable, the second one was painful but the third one was outright impossible to cope with. I usually like fucked up stuff but this felt so real and whe none knows that these kind of things happen(ed), then it gets you at the very core. Thus I think it's a good film as it manages to touch you in a way little movies do, but this was just too much for me towards the end, I had to turn it off.

The Green Mile

I thought the 3+ hours of movie would completely make me unhook from this flick, but the actors played so incredibly well and the story was so extraordinary that one would have a hard time sitting through its entire run. I felt teary towards the ending, and not a lot of movies manage to summon up emotions like these. Frank Darabont knows his stuff and Stephen King shows he's not just a horror-bidden writer.
The Blu-ray gave it some immersion both visually and audibly. Great presentation. Loved it.

Coppola's Dracula, or Bram Stoker's Dracula. That was one bad film.

I watched George A Romero's original "Dead" trilogy on the weekend. Night of the Living Dead is pretty decent if a tad bleak and as blasphemous as it sounds, I do prefer Tom Savini's remake. It is however a pretty decent horror movie, even if it's more of a satirical peace on the US nowadays.

Dawn of the Dead is fantastic. I adore this movie, even if the ending with the bikers is kinda out of nowhere (and how obvious it was for everyone to die only for Ben in the last moments to have a change of heart). The first thirty minutes of this film are simply perfect. I love the police invasion on the apartment and the discovery in the basement. Plus even the special effects are pretty good for the seventies.

Day of the Dead is a bit hit and miss. I like the character development and Frankenstein's rather funny moments with Bub but like Dawn before it, the ending is a bit meh. Plus, this is one of the only films that has ever made me physically sick and even now it's kinda hard to watch (so thanks Mr. Savini, I guess having that guy ripped apart screaming in an increasingly high pitched cry is my threshold for violence).

I'm planning to watch his next two films shortly (and hopefully Survival will be out soon) but minus that, a pretty damn good trilogy.

Its a fascinating voyage of pain and despair that leaves you emotionally drained and satisfied, like fucking a burning dolphin.

Dead Set, in it's movified form (taking out the breaks and turning it into one feature). OK, it was a TV movie but I think it counts.

Iron Man. I'd been meaning to see it for a long time.

The whole stupidly long agency name, I guessed straight off that it was going to have an acronym. When they said it, I caught the S, the H, and the I. You can probably take a guess at where I thought it might go. Me and my twisted mind...

However, most importantly, Gwyneth makes a very good redhead.

Not as bad as everyone's making it out to be. The special effects are top notch and the action is well deployed throughout the flick. It's scary to think of the world ending in such an atrocious way, but if it had to happen to me, I'd just hope for a quick death ey.

What I found annoying was the lame role given to Thomas McCarthy, Danny Glover's lisp and the film's duration, which started to feel like it dragged on a bit too much towards the end.
