I'm really sad to say this, but could this be the last Muse album?! Really dont want it to be true, but:
- Matt's been able to write his symphony, probably his magnus opus
-The resistance has a massive air of finality
- Teignmouth have finally accepted them!
Fingers crossed it wont be, but still a worry!

What a dumb thing to say. And that is some terrible evidence. They are the biggest they've ever been and keep getting better.

Yeah, I highly, highly doubt they're anywhere near done.

Don't be a jackass, he's not being dumb. The Resistance does indeed have finality etched into it, with Exogenesis and all that. Even if Muse do keep going (which is likely since they are indeed growing steadily) it'll be tough for them follow up.
I think they'll keep going, but this is more of a potential stopping point then any other points they've passed, I think. That's why it feels more worrisome that they may disband.

You never know when a band decides to hang it up, so I don't think it's necessarily a dumb thing to say, but I don't see it happening any time soon. They still seem to be at a creative peak with no signs of slowing (or wanting to slow) down.
They still have a lot to prove.

They have expressed over and over that they love doing what they do. As long as that remains true, the music community will be blessed.

It sounds final because it's telling a story. Stories have endings.

It's foolish not to acknowledge that Muse could quit while they're ahead. They're just people after all, it's got to end sometime. It's not stupid to worry about it, especially now after so many goals of theirs have seemingly been accomplished.
That said, I bet they won't. Maybe when they're all older.

And then what? What would they do after retiring in their 30's? Not make music? Make music without the other members of the band? Start their own new bands? That wouldn't really be retiring anyway. Muse will die together like the old folks from The Notebook.

I can see that happening. I mean this COULD be last album, but they still would tour. But actually i doubt that they will stop.

I understand you...I think about it everytime a new album is released as I always wonder how they can do better next time
It would be quite normal if one day they just decide to take a break; they've been repeating the same pattern for years now: touring; recording, touring, recording and few months off (3 at max?). They seem to be happy doing that so I wish it will go on and on and on ...but who knows? Let's just enjoy the present and the bright new album

i don't think they have made any plans for the future further than the resistance tour. it's possible that they will take a long break after the tour since chris has a big family to take care of and matt has got a girlfriend and might be thinking of marriage and stuff, who knows? don't know about dom though.
but i definately think they will be back, after a few years break. and then i think they will do something completely different and even bigger maybe a double album? anything is possible when it comes to muse.

I think that it will be stupid if they will disband. Thy're nowhere as big as their potential.
The past is now part of my future, The present is well out of hand.

No Muse is leading the way right now. There is no band up there next to them, The reigns of the Music world have just been handed to them. I expect bigger and better things from Muse from this point on.
