Theres gonna be a few goals at the Emirates today, i sense a good game.
Mhmm, unfortunately they went the wrong way though
How the hell did we manage that? We've had all of the possession and loads of half-chances, but can't actually put it in the back of the net. Could've been up by a couple at half-time, but it was the other way around. Stupid. We need a hefty defender to partner with Toure.
Small change got rained on with his own thirty-eight, and nobody flinched, down by the arcade.

I'M GOING TO WEMBLEY!!! Hopefully. Providing we get tickets. But Jesus, well deserved over 180 minutes. Preston never got a look in, more or less. Soooo happy my little Halford got it. I've loved him all season, he's awesome. If the last two games haven't convinced Blackwell enough to try and buy him I don't know what will. Class act all around. Player of the season for me. Making up a top three with Killa and Naughton. Fantastic.
Roll on Bank Holiday Monday and Wembley! Utd/Reading final would be class, but I'm not sure how likely that's looking now.

Ahh, United in the play off final, Hull in the bottom three of the Premiership. I think this is the best day of this season so far.

What you got against Hull?
Quite simply, I don't think, and have never thought, they were good enough for the Premier League, and this is the reality check that's been long coming. They were crap last season when I saw them on a few occasions, yet somehow, went up. God knows how, then the start of this season was insane, I still don't know how they managed it. But the second half of this season has shown the mediocracy that they carry. They have some decent players who can perform but as a squad, they're simply not good enough. And they don't deserve to be staying up ahead of teams like Newcastle or Middlesbrough while, they might be having tough seasons, have the quality to be up there, and the prestige.

I really want both Newcastle and West Brom to stay up. Hull were exciting at the beginning of the season but now they can just fuck back off to the Championship.
Hopefully Middlesbrough will go down too. They've always bored me as a team and whenever they come on Match of the Day I feel like turning it off. I like Southgate but I think he'd be better off somewhere else.

Seriously?
Everyone is gonna worship him now because of this. It's his first win as manager. They probably wont win another til the end of the season now.
I've worshipped him since I was a kid so no change there!
I expect he'll try to stop any over-hyping of this win. In his interviews after the match he was brushing off questions suggesting the match was won with inspired substitutions.
As he said, you need as much luck as skill to be a good manager.

Hah. You do realise "the end of the season" is the next two games, right? Not like they have too long to wait

Well, Boro are fucked. Ideally, I'd like to see Newcastle go down as well but I have a horrible feeling that they're going to make it out.
And the mighty Blades are heading to the play off final. So that's me happy. For some reason though, I just have no confidence that we'll actually win and go up. And even if we do, we seriously need a new striker.

I think every Blade has their doubts, Pib. Twelves years ago, six years ago... finals, and losses. Are they coming in sixes for us? Or is this third time lucky? Guess we'll have to wait and see. Burnley are though, one of the only teams this season that have beaten us, twice. Bad sign? Possibly. But if we play like we did the last two games against Preston, then we could even challenge (not say beat, but challenge) Reading at their best, which I still think is the best team in the division, on their day.
Ahh, can't wait for the 25th, though.

The Championship this year was the ultimate year for an average side to get out of this division, no team has impressed me that much at all.
Anyway, Burnley are through now after a good win over Reading. The final will be a really close one, I wouldn't be too surprised if it goes to penalties.

Colin, did you see either of Sheff Utd's matches against Preston? I thought we played pretty well, but I'm bias, and curious to hear a neutral's opinion I know saying "we dominated Preston for 150 minutes" isn't saying much, but considering both clubs form of late, it was good work on our part.
Anyway, I'm happy with Burnley. Would've rather had Reading because at least a club worthy of the Prem on their best day would have gone up, but ne'mind, it's obvious who I'm cheering for anywhos.

Right ladies, i cant get James to agree with me here, so i'll ask you lot.
Which was the better goal? Don't consider what it did in terms of the match or in importance, just the goal itself. Which was better or more skillful.
Macheda's against Villa? or Torres' against Blackburn?
I agree with James that the Macheda one was way more important - it won them the game in the dying minutes. But, as a goal on its own, the Torres one was much better. Agree or not?
