He's surely gotta go to United. I can't see him signing for City if both Real and United are interested.
EDIT:
BBC:
Quote Manchester City's prospective new owner Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim has revealed he has made bids for Valencia's David Villa and Stuttgart striker Mario Gomez
Guess that confirms they've given up on Berbatov
If you expect that muffin to fly back to the kitchen you best go and get it a cape.

I can't see Villa going to City. Hasn't he recently signed a contract with Valencia?

Yeah i'm pretty sure he did that t'other day didn't he? Bleugh. I highly doubt it as well. But if Villa moves to the premiership and isn't playing for Liverpool I shall be sad.

City think they can sign anyone. They have nothing to offer at the moment except money, and a mid-table battle.

1744: BIG TRANSFER COMPLETED
Liverpool's official website tells the world the news it was massively expecting - Espanyol winger Albert Riera, formerly of Manchester City, has joined on a four-year deal for a fee believed to be about £8m.

Very good signing!

Birmingham NEC - 15/11/06
Wembley Stadium - 16/06/07
Royal Albert Hall - 12/04/08

Still nothing confirmed and now Man City are being linked with Robinho!?!
A crazy day that will only get crazier.
EDIT: 2023: "There are deals we're chasing and bids we've put in, I don't know how many will come to a successful resolution. It's always difficult on the last day of the window. As for Berbatov, I'd like the chance to speak to him, but I haven't been afforded that opportunity yet. We're in there trying, though."
Man City manager Mark Hughes on BBC Radio 5 Live
From the BBC website; the plot thickens.

0005: TRANSFER CONFIRMED AND MY GOD IT'S A CRACKER
Robinho, the 24-year-old Brazilian, has left Real Madrid and signed for Manchester City. That is officially the biggest deadline day deal in history. Probably.
|
|

worst career move in history, probably
|
|

Agreed. Robinho has quality to play everywhere, and he goes to Man City? Lame. I guess money talks louder.
|
|

Its going to be interesting.
He'll probably end up like Vassell though
|
|

Vassel was never a great player, though.

It's brilliant business by City, well done to them. I'm glued to Sky Sports News, I'm not going to bed until we get our man!

You do realise that Man City are probably one of the richest clubs in the world now, don't you? That means they'll do a Chelsea and will be challenging for the Premiership title next year, I can see why he went there. Bare dollar and a big change of being in a team who'll be able to win anything next season makes sense to me.
|
|
|
Kind of gutting though? I mean, City get quality like Robinho, and you get Berbatov... who is nowhere near worth his ridiculous price tag.
Meanwhile, i dislike all these rumours of Owen coming back to Anfield.
And WHY did we sell Finnan

But looking at their squad, I don't think Man City comes even close to Man Utd or Chelsea. I know they have lots of money, that's why I said money talks louder.
