Everyone I knew at school who liked Muse was also quite clever. Those who weren't so clever seemed to like stuff like "so solid crew"
Just an observation rather than fact perhaps...

i have a question about the slogan.
the "ay" in "intimidating ay" is pronounced how?
like the vowel sound in "yay"!
or in "hide"
Wont you let your red heart show?

we are clever but that should be indepedent to the fact that we like Muse ( i dont think i made my self clear, my English is a bit terrible )
em, Lasagne would be nice : D

Well, you know what they say - self-praise is no praise.

Without sounding pretentious, it's a nice slogan. It's not the most precise one, but I mean you have to look pretty hard to find the lasagne-topics. On various other band forums, I could imagine lasagne being a news item (figure of speech). It also doesn't say the ONLY rock for clever people, so yeah it's an apposite slogan.

i like it, anyways its just a slogan it's not something to look at and think :O pretentious T***s, i like to think its a lil tongue in cheek
plus we are clever......erm....honest :P

I hate the slogan. Firstly, because it seems a little pompous. And secondly, because one word I wouldn't use to describe the majority of Muse fans is "clever".
I'm not trying to belittle anyone on this site here, and I'm not speaking for everyone. But you know, there's nothing intelligent about Muse, and Muse fans are quite often childish in my experience.
Also, I fucking hate lasagne. I hate it as a food and now I hate it as a word.

"Relative to what?" is perhaps the question. I would imagine, taken as an average, they would bring in a higher IQ score than Slipknot fans (and I like Slipknot) who would in turn, probably bring in higher IQ scores than Girls Aloud fans (and I like Girls Aloud too).
But I broadly agree with your first point, it is pompous and embarrassing, especially considering the level of debate here. And is also redolent of certain undesirables.

I'm not relating them or comparing them to anyone. Just in my experience, Muse fans aren't more intelligent than the common man.

If I were a mod for a day I would ban anyone that suggests bloody lasagne as a slogan again.

Oh, you don't want to be a mod. The power changes you.

I don't want to be one. But I do want to unleash some form of punishment on the lasagne party.

^^Still angry about what happened to the "Ask Pibb" thread ?
The slogan is good I think. I don't see what it should be changed. It has been since the beginning. And honnestly, I don't think anyone really cares about it

No, just in general on forums I posted on, people became dicks after being made mods. Not always of course. I was a mod on kerrang and barely ever used it.
But yes. Lasagne FTL.

My PAHAHAHAHA! eeyyy... in unbroken virgin realities, is tired of living... ooooh.... get him back up! back up!

I like Girls Aloud too, and I listen to them alot, does this mean I suddenly have a lesser IQ when I listen to them? Or am I too stupid to be listening to Muse?
Regardless of IQ, you like a band or artist because it clicks for you. I don't get what Matt sings about half the time, but I'm not worried, because I love the music.
