MUSE bass player CHRIS WOLSTENHOLME is back playing bass.

Chris fractured his wrist whilst on the Curiosa tour of the US, forcing the band to draft in Morgan Nicholls of The Streets as an emergency replacement.

However, the band flew to Australia today, and while Morgan is still on board, Chris is being eased back in.

Matt Bellamy told NME.COM: “Chris is actually alright now. He’s adjusted his cast a little bit so he can play the bass, he played a couple of songs in Austria last weekend. Morgan’s coming out to Australia with us, but Chris is gonna have a go at playing the whole set and we might stick Morgan on the keys!”

Matt also told of how their traumatic year has given him a new perspective. “It’s made me feel like this is something that really is worth fighting for, which maybe I’ve missed that. Sometimes you take for granted that things are going well and everyone’s healthy and suddenly a few things happen and it makes you realise that you should make the most of it when you’re there.”

The year has been a mixture of triumph and tragedy for the band. As well as Chris’ injury, drummer Dominic Howard’s father collapsed and died after watching his son headline Glastonbury.
